About

The FM LGBT Film Festival grew out of a Queer Film Series I curated for Minnesota State University Moorhead on moving here from San Francisco in 2008. Since 2009 the festival has screened films from national and international sources, all with a focus on the lived experience of the Lesbian/ Gay/ Bisexual/ Transgender populations (we realize that those populations encompass more than the letters LGBT).

Bringing current and relevant queer film to this northern community is our passion. When asked to develop a festival statement at its most concise, we landed on this:

“There’s a place where you are seen. Let us show it to you.”

Volunteer and Internship Opportunities:

We are seeking an intern to work closely with festival staff and filmmakers.

This position will be most active between July-October of 2017, during which time hours will vary between 15-20/week. This is an exciting opportunity to help the festival get off the ground. Interest in film, LGBTQ rights, or both a plus.

For more info, please send us a message using our contact page.

The festival also runs on volunteer power!

If you’re a fan and are interested in getting more involved, we are looking for volunteers to help during the festival. Volunteers will receive a free festival pass.
